Lisa Lim’s unplugged rendition of I Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick is a warm, organic reinterpretation of a song she grew up hearing as a child of the 1970s. Part of her ongoing “Songs of My Youth” series, Lisa alternates unplugged cover renditions with original releases every other month — honoring the artists and productions that shaped her sound while stripping songs down to their emotional core. Built around percussive acoustic guitar, fingerstyle melodic guitar, bass, piano, shaker, kick, hi-hat, and Beatles-inspired harmonies, the arrangement transforms the energetic rock anthem into an intimate singer-songwriter pop performance with a warm live feel.
